This Earth Day, we’re highlighting the meaningful work our Shop Sustainably™ partners are doing to build a better, more responsible future for home and for the planet.

One of the standout suppliers in this effort is International Home Miami (IHM)—a family-owned business with a history as expansive as its outdoor furniture collections. What began over 80 years ago in Argentina as a local furniture business has grown into a globally recognized supplier with a distribution center in Florida and a reputation for sustainability that runs deep.

“We’re a four-generation company,” shared German Rebruj, CEO of IHM’s U.S. operations. “The family still works in the company, based in Buenos Aires.”

The business began by manufacturing and distributing furniture within Argentina, but as the economy opened in the 1990s, IHM expanded globally.

“In 2000, we saw an opportunity to do the same thing in the United States,” said German. “To really grow, we needed to make bigger investments, so I moved here full-time. Now we have a 100,000 square foot distribution center in Florida.”

And not long after establishing a U.S. presence, IHM began a lasting relationship with Wayfair. German shared, “It’s been close to 20 years now. It feels like a true partnership.”

That close connection is echoed by Jorge Mario Basilaki Coluccio, IHM’s VP of E-commerce Sales. “We’ve solved issues quickly, and that kind of collaboration makes a huge difference, not just on the personal side, but for growing the business too,” he said.
